We were trying to get him to go to sleep all by himself on this night. We kept hearing the puppy singing so we thought he was playing with it at the top of the stairs. We went to check on him and put him back in his bed and found him like this.

Memorial Day Weekend 2013

For the holiday weekend, we decided to skip town and headed off to Baton Rouge for a change of scenery. I was a little nervous going on road trip with a three-week old infant, but it all worked out. Hotels are always fun for toddlers, and Baton Rouge had plenty for a toddler boy to enjoy (and shopping for Mama).

Baton Rouge had an awesome shallow water park. Hank and Bill had a blast, while Izzy and I hung out in the shade.

We ended our short vacation with a quick trip to the zoo to the see the lions, tigers, and bears.

Izzy's Newborn Pictures

We had Izzy's newborn pictures taken when she was 8 days old. Vanessa from Sweet Rose was our photographer and she did an awesome job. If anyone in the Fort Polk area needs a newborn photographer, you can check her out here.

This is the best that we could do for a family picture. I was hoping that Hank would have warmed up to Izzy by now but no such luck.

This is the best sibling picture that we could get during this session, but it is what it is. I'm sure one day he'll be more willing to get a picture taken with his little sister.

Hank turns 2!

Hank turned 2 less than two weeks after Izzy was born. Poor kid. I felt like I needed to make it up to him so we probably went a little overboard on the presents, and we also took a day trip down to Lake Charles to eat lunch at Chucke E. Cheese's. We also ended up eating dinner in Lake Charles at a Japanese steakhouse (that was more Mommy and Daddy's choice).

We then headed back home to enjoy some cake and open a plethora of presents.

I just love the look on his face as we were singing happy birthday to him.
