Splish Splash!

One of Bill's good friends out here retired from the Army about 2 months ago. He and his wife bought a house in nearby Victorville and invited us over yesterday to swim and barbeque. They have a pretty awesome salt water pool so we figured this would be a great time to introduce Hank to swimming since he typically enjoys his bathtime.
I bought this little swim shirt on clearance at Target. It said it fit babies 12-18 lbs. It didn't even cover his belly!
This is right after Hank took a dump in his Little Swimmer diaper :)
"Daddy, I don't think I like this!"
"Hi Mommy!"

"I guess this isn't that bad."

2 months!

Our baby boy passed the 2 month mark this week. We don't have his official stats since his Well Baby appointment is next week, but we're pretty sure that he weighs almost 14 pounds! I started back to work last Friday (I know what you're thinking - "Why did she go back to work? Aren't they moving in like a month?"). Yes, I'm crazy.

After being on the infant wait list for 4 weeks, we finally got a spot for Hank in the daycare on post, which has turned out to be quite the interesting experience thus far. On his first day, there was a sign on the door saying that the room had been exposed to pink eye. So of course, I was just waiting for Hank to come home with pink eye. And of course, we were convinced one night this past week that he definitely had it. The next day Bill received 2 phone calls from the daycare - 1. please bring in diaper rash cream; 2. please come pick up your son because we think he has thrush and needs to be cleared by a doctor before he comes back to daycare. So Hank had his first trip to the ER (this wasn't an emergent case but it's just how they handle things out here because they have very few acute appointment spots at the clinic and we don't have anything like a Med Check out here). After getting his temperature taken rectally, Hank had a huge blowout all over Daddy's shirt. The doctor said that Hank was perfectly fine, he did not have thrush, and that he was perfectly healthy. Daddy's shirt was not so lucky.

Enjoy these pictures that were taken over the last few weeks!

We participated in a 5K race on the 4th of July. Bill ran, I walked, Hank was just along for the ride.

Hank finishing his first 5K in his sleep - literally.

Unofficial length - 25 inches.

The Hankster!

Because I just can't get enough of him and because I got a new camera that I've been playing around with, I decided to share some more pictures of our little guy.

Hank T!

On Saturday, we hit the 6-week mark. Yes, technically I could be back at work by now but I couldn't get back into the see the doctor until July 5th so for now I'll enjoy my time home with the Hankster. I'm also still feeling incredibly out of shape so that gives me some extra time to get my butt in gear. Hank is growing by the second. We don't have an exact weight from last week, but he weighed 10 lb 13 oz at our last breast feeding meeting - meaning that he gained 15 oz in 1 week!

Streeeetch!

Hank and Daddy in the work truck. No, he did not take the vehicle out of park or even turn it on.

Tummy time!

Oh baby...

After having my mom in town to help out for 2 weeks and then Bill being on paternity leave for 10 days after that, Hank and I made it through our first week alone. On Friday night and last night, we survived our first overnights since Bill had to spend these nights out in the field, a.k.a "the box." I'm pretty sure that's short for sandbox. Our days have been dictated by Hank's eating and sleeping schedule which changes every day. We do venture out of the house to pick up groceries and such, but there really isn't much on post so we spend most of our time at the house. Last week, I finally starting feeling up to taking walks around the neighborhood so we take a late afternoon walk every day now. We also attend our weekly breast feeding support group meeting. I mainly go to see how much Hank weighs to reassure myself that he is actually getting enough to eat - and by golly he sure is - he gained 11 oz. in 1 week! Last week my baby weighed 9 lbs 14 oz! I expect him to be over the 10 lb mark at tomorrow's meeting. Enjoy the pictures!
"Look, Daddy. I already have the military look going on."

Smiling in his sleep :)

"Mommy! I can't believe you're putting this picture on the blog!"

He loves looking at the light coming in through the windows during the day.
