Pool party!

We recently had a going-away party for one of my friends at work since she and her husband are PCSing to Kansas. Luckily, one of my co-workers who hosted the party has a swimming pool. Hank made a bee-line straight for the pool as soon as we stepped outside and would have walked right in if I hadn't grabbed him. He spent most of the party in the pool with me or Bill, taking a few rest breaks to eat.

With this hot and humid weather down here in Louisiana, we try to keep cool as much as possible.  Here are a few pictures of Hank enjoying his new pool back in June. Of course, it only keeps him occupied for about 10-20 minutes before he wants to head on in to the cul-de-sac (sigh), and I have to get out of my chair to retrieve him.

Gone Wild Safari!!

To continue with the celebration of Hank's first birthday, we took him to a safari in Pineville, Louisiana. I think that Bill probably enjoyed it more than me and Hank. I think that Hank will enjoy it more in a few years. The zoo (or the mall) is probably more my cup of tea. :) I wasn't too fond of the ostrich and camel who stuck there entire head inside the tour bus windows.

Hank goes to Shreveport...

We took a quick trip up to Shreveport, Louisiana over Memorial Day weekend. We visited a children's museum that had a toddler play area, went shopping at the Boardwalk, went swimming at the hotel pool, and ate plenty of food.

Grandma comes to visit...

I mentioned previously that I went to Colorado Springs at the end of April for a work conference. Luckily, my mom was able to come down to Louisiana and help with Hank since Bill was out in the field for his work during this same time.  Hank got spoiled by Grandma, and I didn't have to worry about whether or not Bill remembered to pick Hank up from daycare. I also survived a whole 5 days without seeing my little guy. Despite the beautiful scenery and great shopping in Colorado, I couldn't wait to get back home.

Back home in Indiana..

As I mentioned in the previous post, Hank and I stayed in the midwest for a few extra days after my friend's wedding to visit family. Hank had his first Easter egg hunt with his cousins. Of course the visit just didn't seem long enough, but Hank and I will be taking a trip back at the end of July to see everyone again!

Hank was a little hard to handle on the flight from Indy to Atlanta so I let him push the stroller in the Atlanta airport for about 45 minutes before the second half of our flight. It definitely helped! He slept the entire flight back to Louisiana. What a relief!!
